6 qt Dutch Oven for $20

I went to harbor freight yesterday for odds and ends things and I found a 6 qt. cast iron dutch oven that is usually about $30 on sale for $25. I broke out my 20% off coupon and got it for $19.99. I`ve been wanting to get one of these for a long time just didn`t want to spend $75 or so to get one. Its 12 inches across and I was told you can even use the lid as a fry pan for bacon, burgers etc. I think I scored pretty good.

That's not bad for the price. I have not been to my local HF for quite a bit. I need to pay a visit someday.

i have on and is is a great junker for camping and hunting and i even make cobler in the oven some times. it doesn't bother me to loan it out and when i do i dont give my 30min lecture on seasoning and washing cast. I also wont be to broken up when some one drops it and breaks it because i'll just go buy another. yes i have expensive cast and lots of it, but a decent functioing "beater" is always good to have around
dutch oven cooking is awesome welcome to the club.

Yeah I saw the had a 3 cast iron skillet set (L/M/S) for 19.99 and you could use the 20% off to snag it for 16 bucks. Not bad for 3 CCC skillets. I do try to always buy the USA made skillets but I know what you mean about the price for the dutch oven. Nice thing is you only have to buy it once and it lasts 3000 years.

Now make some dutch oven pie or bread...........

During my yesterday's trip to Bass Pro I gave in to "temptation" and purchased a 2qt. camp dutch oven. I already have the 6qt. I may purchase the 1qt. next time around. Though it's not the best deal it did not matter at that time to me. Yeah I have the camp dutch oven bug.

I actually just got my hands on my grandfathers old dutch oven. American made and built to last. Kind of cool he, he used it camping with my dad and now I will be using it!

I have a deeper pan and a shallow pan that will fit together and make a dutch oven. I've used both pans for home cooking in the past but have never used the oven option. What are some good beginner recopies I could give a shot? Plan to go out to the desert soon and I think this wold be fun to try.

Just picked up Camp Chef branded dutch oven on sale at Big 5 for $29.99, normal price $39.99. I forget the size but it wasn't too small.
