Added Failures
I have followed the Benghazi murders very closely as I worked for 3 years in protecting America diplomats in Central America duing troubled times there. I put in a lot of time in the El Salvadorian embassy during its civil war, traveled to Nicaraugua several times with "fact finding congressmen" and a dozen trips to Columbia with various "officials." I found it incredibly shocking the ambassador didn't have a protective detail in Benghazi. We protected far less people than ambassadors in far more secure locations around the world. I have first hand knowledge of that.
One of the things that has come out and I posted a link too it in the political arena here is that the terrorists posted threats on the ambassador on their facebook account in May or June. Yet our government is saying they knew of no threats. Just how good is that eavesdropping? Just how big is that survelliance threat we all assume big brother is capable of - for in this case is sure let down a US ambassador and 3 other fine men.

Nothing, no matter how horrible, ever really happens without the approval of the government, over there and here. The problem isn't the doing, the problem is that the people in power have to admit they knew.x2

I recently noticed on EVERY streetlight around my home, work, and child care facility there is now a camera, not a strobe detector, but a camera.
I can't find the thread now, but I saw this posted, and if you have some time tonight you would be surprised at the thousands of data points you might be otherwise unaware of, especially if you have a smartphone, and all phones "call home" with what other phones are around them ALL DAY LONG...
Part II is even more interesting. Long watch, and a scary "1984" is upon us.Last edited by the86d; 10-03-2012, 11:23 AM.Comment

Pretty bubbles in the air,
They fly so high,
Nearly reach the skyComment

They are to detect the cars at a traffic signal instead of burying wire in the asphalt. They are more economical and don't require repair whenever you resurface the street. They aren't watching you pick your nose at an intersection. Some of them are IR only as I understand it.Comment

The Gov't! Worry more about Facebook and Google profiling you. Less than three years from their computers will be able to find you in minutes. The way you type, spell words, puntuate sentances, move a mouse, and view web pages will tell them who you are. Just like fingerprints. You could be anywhere on a anoymous computer trying to be anoymous. They will find you and adjust the pages to fit your viewing / shoping profile.sigpicComment
