Been a Katadyn Hiker Pro user for 15+ years now, and this is a first. I had to replace my original unit that served me well for 14 years or so. This was a brand new out of the box unit, checked it and assembled it as normal. Did a 16 mile trip to a couple of lakes in the Emigrant Wilderness in California this weekend and picked up a hitchhiker in the pre-filter. I pulled it all apart to clean it tonight and found this leech in the pre-filter. I have ZERO idea how he got in there. I inspected the filter and all the mesh panels are intact, with no large holes or compromised attachments to the cage body. I can't see any gaps where it could have gotten in. I'm truly at a loss.
