    Prepping & Politics

Its one thing to prepare for an earthquake, tsunami, storms, floods and other natural disasters but another to believe our government or monetary system et al could collapse. Now I don't mean to lump those who believe in a possible monetary collapse into the same order as those who believe the government is evil or wrong, but there seem to be similarities there.

So to the later group, good news, the folks in academia have decided you have a disease, and while they have no treatment / drugs they do advocate "re education" for you:

A disturbing piece was published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry. In it is a study that claims people who are anti-government or believe in conspiracies around the government are suffering fr…

    Yeah good luck with that!

There's a big difference between believing a government could collapse and actively trying to bring down that government. Don't try to put preppers in that latter category.

      Didn't say bring it down

The article does not say those who want to bring down the government it says those afraid of their government - should be institutionalized and re educated. Not putting anyone in the category of trying to bring down our government.

Just because I wear a tinfoil helmet at all times does not mean I am mentally ill!

I can't find anything anywhere other than blogs about this new study that explains my new mental illness (maybe they will come out with a pill for it!!!). It has not been published.

All pages I found linked back to one blog:

that credits some guy with the nickname 'hillbilly'. So while it was an entertaining read, I am thinking it's a hoax for the moment.

Edit: the choice of words, lack of proper grammar and spelling errors makes this a poorly done hoax.

It has to be real! If not my fear of government may ACTUALLY be a mental disorder!

Yes, it's a hoax. Look at who wrote the article on that page:

                Journal of Clinical Psychiatry
                Volume 11, series 3, pages 4-5

                  I love my country dearly.
My prepping is for natural or man made disasters.

We will pull out of this economic crisis just fine and I think our government will be as strong as ever.

Just bought 4 ounces of silver today and planning on buying 50 ounces in a week or two.

if it is a mental disorder can I claim disability?
