Reopening Part Deux! We have a more powerful server, twice the CPU and four times the RAM.
I'm kind of afraid to say this but... let's stress test this thing!
Darn, I thought the title referred to Post SHTF cooking tips!
TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Basically I try to keep my diaper bag with a pretty good supply of diapers, wipes (Costco has great diapers and wipes), a little backpacker first aid kit, etc. etc. Grab and go for a weekend trip pretty much. And then I swiped my wife's hospital bag and filled it with more of everything and some water and MRE brownies and stuck it in the trunk.
Bottom line: If you actually leave the house with the kid you'll figure out really fast if your diaper bag needs something else!
Congrats on the baby girl! I have a 5 year old girl myself, and another baby girl coming in a month.
Am I the only one wondering if your wife is nursing or not? It's the absolute BEST thing for your baby for so many reasons. TONS of research on this. I honestly can't think of a more secure and portable food source for infants. It is reccommended that babies nurse for 12 months....... And there's your year's supply of food! Take care of your wife and have her nurse! By the way, my wife is a dietician specializing in children, as well as a certified lactation consultant..... So I guess I'm a little biased!
Every time prepping for a kid comes up something always seems to get missed..... comfort items. When all hell is breaking loose your responsible for not just keeping the kido safe, but comfortable and happy as well. Your child's mental well being is just as important as their physical well being. Pack a stuffed animal, blanket, toy etc....
