Never heard of him. Why is he relevant?
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

I have read a lot of his stuff, and he is relevant because everything we talk about on this forum, he has done for real. He was in Argentina when all that bad **** went down, and basically had to survive a WROL scenario for a while. He has some good insight into the situation. Here in the US, for the most part, we train and prepare for things that may never happen, and we hope don't, but he has walked the walk in a way that a lot of folks can't imagine.

Cool idea. You might consider pre-screening potential questions from those who will participate, just to keep the content value high and eliminate time-wasting bonehead questions like ".45acp vs. 9mm" and similar.

I would like for everyone to take this mans story as a grain of salt. All my family is and lives in Argentina and from what small articles i have read about his mans accounts seemed to be get dressed up. In Argentina citizens could posses guns as they were illegal to own unless either they were criminals, government officials, police officers or ranchers . Due to hyperinflation the peso was not worth much so the American dollar was used to conduct most transactions. For those who didn't have access to American dollars bartering was most commonly used a method of payment for goods of services. My grandfather who retired decades ago from the military didn't have any issues simply because he owned his own home and received military benefits. My uncle on the other hand survived by driving a taxi and and became a handyman doing odd jobs. The country did have severe economical problems but there was not a total collapse of government which others make it seem to appear. Every family will have a different account on how they survived that time period some stories will sound more severe than others. I know SHTF stories are intriguing and can be educational but remember they are still stories told by another person who may-not be able to authenticate his story. That is why there is controversy about this guy on some websites.

i dunno the guy or the time period in question, but my dad went on 6 trips to argentina in the lare 70/early 80s he came back with a couple anecdotes. " soldiers standing on the street corners with m16s. adding a zero to the prices over nite, (from 50 to 500) he stayed at the sheraton and a bomb went off one night.

He moved to Ireland. I read a post from him saying he is very busy right now. I'm sure he will be willing to do it after he gets settled in.
