Well,a sling to me is the equivalent of a holster for a pistol, so I'd ahve that. But I'd really want the eo tech(or ACOG). Cleaning kit should be a given, but I suppose I can get by with whatever oil might be available to lube it.

Really its a stupid question. You should have a flashlight and knife in your BOB anyway. I don't plan on using a weapon light when I expect that others might be shooting at me. Vert grip/bipod is pointless. At least without a scoped rifle. IR Sighting system? Got night vision? If not, pointless. And if so, next to pointless. EO tech could be used with night vision on lowest setting.

What no 5... Sights how good is it going to do with no ammo same with number 7... The only other good ones would be the sling aka the stretchy strangler thingy and the cleaning kit... Assuming the the SHTF is every man for them selves.

Based on the thread title, I thought it was a "you can only take one thing from your BOB/INCH with you, what would it be" rather than what gun mod would you want if you could only have one.

I would go with 8, the IR system, so I could see and if neccessary, engage someone at night.

Everything else could be jerry-rigged or done without. Firing your rifle in the dark with no sighting reference is a good way to waste ammo, let everyone know where you are, and go night blind

My pocket knife is always on me, 550 cord or some other rope for a sling, it is very common for me to have a flashlight, the rifle already has iron sights...so 8 works best for me.

I was thinking along those lines as well. When I listed IR sighting system, I'm inferring that it is all the components necessary for shooting at night without be spotted. but then again I don't know anything about IR sight systems. Sounds cool anyway.
