    Survival Shotgun

Apologize if this is a dup from an older post but thought this was at least interesting. I know we all talk about not patrolling the urban environment or bugging out looking like a target, but this has some potential. This could work as a set up once you are out of the area and act as a back up or extreme emergency bug out.

I was thinking the same thing. If I wanted a weapon to covertly get out of dodge, Get a short pistol grip pump or a folder. Keep all the tacticool crap off of it. Back home I keep a fully loaded M590A1 next to my bed and they ***** is HEAVY. I have a little pistol grip Win 1200 that I take when I go camping and its light as a feather. I could store that in a large jim bag or back pack.
Also getting in and out of vehicles while being a driver with anything large is a slight pain. Just food for thought.

Impressive. Although a normal full-size pump shogun tends to be heavy in itself.

I hate this state. I would love a lightweight aluminum short barrelled shotgun thats stripped down with a folder for a camp ground defender type weapon

That one looks too heavy and is too loaded down. I also wouldn't have a "cruiser" style (pistol grip only - no stock) shotgun as someone else suggested. I've you're shot one for more than blasting beer cans you'd know why. They're very hard to aim and very-very uncomfortable to shoot.

My survival shotgun of choice is my Benelli M1 Super 90 with both 20" and 28" barrels. In the self defense roll it cycles fast enough to double tap like a semiautomatic handgun or an AR15. A double or triple tap of 00 buck center mass at self defense ranges is going to solve most home defense problems. As for reliability Tom Knapp's old M1 Super 90 is said to have had over 500,000rds though it when he retired it and was reportedly still in excellent shape. Benelli shotguns are a bit pricey but a Mossberg 930SPX is an affordable alternative. Both for speed and reduced recoil a semiauto really is the way to go.

What exactly is the point ( no pun intended ) of that particular config?

As for a survival shotgun - as opposed to an HD gun - I wonder if something like a Rossi combo gun might not be bad to have.

Light, cheap, easy to break down, versatile. Trunk gun?

I don't have one, never shot one, but I am curious...

I aim it alright and havent knocked my teef out yet. I added a knox stock before they got bought out by blackhawk and that made it even better
I see your point though but hence why I also suggested a folder. you could swing that stock out when you want yet compact to hide

I think the site guy thinks its for real. He claims he added only 2lbs worth of stuff to the gun. Again, I don't think this is what I want to haul around all the time or maybe at all, just enjoying his creativity. If you did have it and could only take one thing with you on your way out, I guess this would be a decent option.

Lol, this thread is full of fail in the first of the three Rs department. Read the whole post. The author was just engaging in an extended mental exercise and says so several times.

I'm by no means a large scale prepper or survivalist, but that just seems dumb to me. Better to throw that gear in a small daypack.... if you trip and fall and lose your primary defense weapon you're screwed.
