Mexican Corn and Crackers with Cheese Spread

I have some MRE's in my SHTF stores.

About 5 years ago I bought a bunch of MRE's, various meals etc...

Let's see, if I bought them 5 years ago, then they are at least 1 year older than that. So they are probably about 6-7 years old.

    Mexican Corn

    Texture: thick and creamy
Taste: corn, sort of spicy sweet, not bad. Interesting tin taste on one bite.
    Color: Brownish yellow. Gross.

    Crackers

    Texture: Crunchy and crumbly.
    Taste: Flour crackers.
    Color: White.

    Cheese Spread

    Texture: Smooth creamy.
    Taste: ???Cheesy???
    Color: Brownish orange.

The crackers were good. The corn, meh, edible but don't look at the corn, just eat it.

    Cheese.
    Uhm, was that cheese?
I'll be tossing all my cheese spreads.

All were edible, but your palate needs to be open to "interesting foods"

The official scale of questionable edibility.
    Best: ?
    Worst: ?????

    Corn: ???
    Crackers: ?
    Cheese:??????????????????????????????????????????? ???????

That's why I by and bulk and replace, using items I routinely use. Surprisingly there are plenty of staples you can get in bulk, that last a few years. Eww, though on the MRE's. Once food gets to close, cook it or give it to the homeless.

Ohod just in case in the future you want to dump your MRE side dishes, I'll be more than happy to take them in even though they are past the 5 year mark. Heck my brother in law hates MREs and I become the fortunate recipient when he comes back from field deployment.

I do admit that the cheese spread is not the best tasting in the world. I wonder if the cheese spread can actually be used as bait for fishing.
