I got 2 of these for $63 each on sale about 14 months ago. We put them inside our MSS bags between the patrol & intermediate bags. Last night the pad was between the bivy & patrol bag. We used the bivy for our top layer on a carpeted garage floor in Sherman Oaks. The pad is 4 season & 2" thick. My son & I are very happy with the Therm-a-rest trail pro.

Self inflating with some foam for rock protection. Seems like its made really well or at least as well as a therm-a-rest pad which for triple or more the money is pretty darn good. You can blow them up really tight and really keep yourself off the ground with only 2.5-3" or so and put your sleeping bag on top of it. I keep 2 in mine and my wife's bug out bag on the bottom just in case. They come in handy when camping in general and somebody needs a bed too.

This stuff is really awesome. We should buy this asap...thanks bombadillo

Big Agnes Insulated Air Core all the way! 25% off at REI through tonight. Product Link: http://www.rei.com/product/763953/bi...d-air-core-pad

It's 2.5" thick but still super lightweight and packable (if you're backpacking). It takes a little bit of work to get it inflated, but is well worth it. Very comfortable.

Summer I go with a Z rest only, and late fall-winter I also take my thermarest as I am not going to trust just an inflatable in the winter.
