Finally went to honeyville, WITH THE WIFE

I had first seen a post by PC about Honeyville and have said for awhile that I was go there since it is somewhat local to me. I DRUG the wife with me since we were on or way back from 29 palms, she was reluctant until she walked in there. I think she was more excited than I was walking around and shopping there. We decided to purchase quite a few items to try out and she was very impressed with their store and how inexpensive some things are. I am delighted that she is onboard with the prepping scene. We seen the water containers, I recommended a couple 55 gal. ones and she said that the 300+ gallon one would be our best bet for the family .
We picked up some of what we are calling pleasure food for the young kids we have, like hot cocoa, smoothie mixes etc. We figured that if there is a Large quake or ? our kids would be very afraid so these little creature comforts would help them adapt better and deal with the situation at hand. When she seen the dried veggies she went crazy because she says alot of restaurants use dehydrated veggies these days and that they wont taste any different once re-hydrated. Only hard sell was the sun oven which I want to get on our next trip. We spent more there then we do at costco or sams club but the advantage is that we don't have to worry to much about shelf life as we do buying fresh stuff.
Thanks again for the posts of Honeyville ProblemChild and everyone else also.

I don't believe they have a retail store in the Bay Area.

Good job. I picked up a #10 can of the choco milk too, my son is 2 1/2 and wouldn't understand not having milk in a "situation" I got the choco milk so I can get a smile when/if I need to give it to him. HV Farms is cool. Once I move into the new apartment with more storage and a garage I will be heading back.

My wife is on board with going there. Since I told here we need to stock up on more food items. Last time we were at the Rainforest Cafe in Ontario Mills Mall we were suppose to stop by there but it was late HV closed already.

Jeez! They're only about 10 minutes from a shooting range I frequent. I'll have to find out if they are open on Sundays.

I posted a video tour a while back for anyone who has not been there yet. Gives you a feel for what they have.

Do they have recipe books or lists of suggested items? For instance, for a basic emergency food stash buy a certain list of items. And then if you want to add to that basic stash, a list of additional some items that can be added easily to add more variety.
