    Here comes Johnny (Irene)

So, I have read some awesome SHTF scenario's on hear but it looks like we have a real life one forming in the Atlantic. So how do you/would you prepare for this and would you evacuate now, stay and bunker in or run around like an idiot.

Most likely, all of the above. Not necessarily in order.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.

I've gone through more Hurricanes than I can remember in Florida - including big ones like Ivan (which basically levelled my home town of Pensacola) and Opal. We never evacuated, and would typically have "Hurricane Parties" with the neighbors when the power went out, everyone would gather at one house and drink till the hurricane passed.

The days afterward can get pretty scary though, and that is an excellent example of SHTF, and why it is good to be both prepared, and armed. on more than a few occassions my downtown area was cut off from outside assistance for 48 hours or more, with some looting and crime issues. My neighbors there were great help, and there is strength in numbers.

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.

Hurricane party sounds like fun, UNTIL the big one hits, then its try to survive! I remember driving to Daytone many years ago for the Superbike races (we won!) and seeing mass destuction on a scale I had never seen before. Asked the local gas station guy what happened and he said hurricane!
