I made a good impromptu discovery today. I always carry a case of bottled water around in my truck bed. My truck bed has a black liner. Anyway, I needed to have a quick handwash today, so grabbed a half empty bottle and dumped some out on my hands. Mmmmmmmm. Nice hot water for a wash up. I'll now start looking into this more formally.

I do the same thing. I fill my solar shower bag prior to hiking and throw it in the back of my truck. At the end of the day, hot water.
That's also how I make sun tea, couple of tea bags in a nalgene bottle, place in sun for an our or so and BAM! Fresh tea!sigpic

You can use my PWT (poor white trash) method of heating water while camping. Fill a couple of 1 gallon Ziploc bags with water and put them in a black plastic trash bag in the bed of your truck. Watch out, they can get really hot. Reuse the Ziploc bags and the trash bag as needed for more hot water or to leave your campsite cleaner than you found it.Comment
