    Flare launcher & Converstion

I remember a thread a while back about getting conversions for the cobray derringer style flare guns. With the plastic frame, I passed. I ran across this today: http://www.captainforhire.com/store/

With a good metal framed 26.5mm launcher and the 2 adapters, you should fire the 26.5mm flares, 12gauge flares, a .38 in emergencies, and you could add the 26.5 to 22LR adapter from Kennesaw to the mix as well. Seems like a well rounded kit for an emergency kit, especially for those lacking in actual firearms (which is never much of a problem around here ) or as an off the books setup.

    Anybody played with these?

A question follow up we were discussing last night: How stable (or unstable more to the point) are flares? With this setup in a car kit get home bag, would it be a danger? Is it legal here in the PRK?

Unless those are rifled, they're illegal in california.
      See here: http://www.atf.gov/press/releases/20...e-inserts.html
      ETA: and here: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/guides/i...-firearms.html

Kennesaw is rifled, so it is legal, but I believe most (if not all) others are smooth bore.

Based on the ATF page listed, both units, smooth bore or not, would be an AOW and fall into the black hole of constructive possession if you had a launcher and the insert in the same building, correct?
