Potassium iodine vs. iodate vs. ???

Which is best to keep on hand for a radiation incident? What is the suggested dosage and how many doses per person would be a good starting point?

This would be for a grown family consisting of some middle-aged adults and some young adults, no children or elderly or pregnant people.

There are only three companies that are FDA approved pills. Those are IOSAT, Thyroshield, and Thyrosafe. You need 130 mg. DO not buy pills that are not FDA approved, most of the time they do not have the correct dosage of KI (too little) and wont protect you enough.
