Question about Los Padres National Forest

Hello everyone, I'm planning a Camping trip to Pyramid Lake.

Does anyone know if we can shoot there? I would only bring my 10/22.

I called the Ranger station, they are closed until tomorrow. So I called the station at the campground and the lady working there didn't know.

In the campgrounds? No.

From a boat on the lake? No.

From the shoreline? No.

In the surrounding forest away from the campgrounds? Hunting only, no target shooting.

I don't know about the Southern part of Los Padres but I had a similiar problem with the rangers and the website linked to above. I called the ranger station that is responsible for LP west of Fort Hunter Liggett and they said it was okay. Away from the road and not across water(standard national forest rules). I'd still recommend calling the appropriate rangers office for Pyramid lake but I believe you are gtg.

If you are around Pyramid Lake, you may be in Angeles NF. The line goes right through the lake. There are a lot of areas there where target shooting is verboten.
