    Newbie SHTF Pt 2

A lot of progress in 3 to 4 weeks,

In part one I asked where should my brother in law start for planning to care for himself in case SHTF, and I noted his foot hill location is very attractive to me as a stop over spot on my way to northern Nevada. He had zero prep, and my primary reason for stopping at his place was to hold up until our trek to nevada would be safer and easier. He lives a top a hill and has a nice well, but at 60 yrs young he's never owned a gun.....

Well he said he wanted to help and do better, and I told him I'd bring the guns but it'd be better if you had one and new how to use it. Today he agreed to an affordable sks 7.62 as a first rifle and we will see how he goes from there.

He also has arrangements for a solar system to power his pump and well. He's doing all right....he keeps up this pace and he can go to Nevada with me!

its never too late to start. Better to only have 3 things that might help than none IMO.

Good for him, although it's a sad but true acknowledgement of the bad time on the horizon. At least he has the capacity to see it may go south. Like the rest of us who prep, if nothing else, we end up with useful stuff. PAX

If you check my YouTube channel, I've been doing a somewhat popular series called "Food Prep for the Lazy, Late & Cheap". It's not "hardcore prepper" material, but many have found it useful for easing their family and friends into doing something.

I don't pretend to be an "authority." I'm just a guy who trains a lot, shoots a lot and has a perspective.
