BLM Land-Shooting, hunting, camping, etc

Hey guys, I wanted to start a general info thread for BLM land use. I have been to Panoche hills with a few friends before and am thinking about going out again and will be brushing up on my rules/laws soon.

Please add more that are good to know:

-Have to shoot a certain distance from the road (I think it's 20 feet, will confirm)
-No hunting even remotely close to any animal water source
-Not sure on fires
-Not sure on just target shooting ammo, anyone know if it can be lead?
-Non lead ammo for hunting

Man alive, am I glad a friend of mine owns some land where we can shoot without all this bullsh*t.

I've UOC and LOC in Mendocino NF for years (when I flew into Pillsbury) and frankly, never encountered an on-duty LEO of any kind. I have to wonder if all the shooting done at the approach end (no you can't land that way) of RWY 1 is legal?

People have been shooting up there for DECADES. I've seen all kinds of people with all kinds of weapons up there and I've even met off-duty LEOs who go up there to shoot.

I can't fly any more (medical reasons) but I have to wonder how much has changed in the six years since I've been up there.
