    PC,

Was there anything that was a better deal at HV rather than the LDS cannery? Just trying to figure out whats more worth my time. I know HV has a better selection, but if its only a few dollars cheaper on some items at the LDS store, I'd rather just make one run to HV...

I wonder if they would be willing to do some sort of group buy. Considering a lot of us are in the area we could all go and give them quite a bit of business at once.

Well, you could always do some leg work and let us know what you find out.

HV is a tiny bit more than LDS but the selection more than makes up for the penny savings. Go to HV and call it a day. Bring your Gold card or Lots O Cash.

                Cool,

I think I'll just do the HV run and call it a day. The only advantage I can see to doing the LDS run is the use of their canner equipment. By the way, did they stock empty #10 cans?

Cans, lids, buckets, mylar, water tanks and barrels. Grain grinders, rocket stoves, chem lights. They have what you need. Even bucket toilets.

Im kinda hoping the shtf soon so I can BBQ my neighbors yip-yap dog that flippin barks 24/7.

                      Honeyville

I live within walking distance of that store and my wife tries to hide the check book whenever I say I'm going by to "take a look".

The small hand powered grain mill they sell is just plain fun to use. I've milled up a bunch of hard red and white wheat and made bread. Excellent stuff. My kids love to help and its a lesson they can take with them.

Next on my shopping list is one or two of the large barrels for water storage. I prepare for what I feel is a likely scenario, which is a large (or very large) earthquake, where potable water will be needed. I have a few hundred gallons stored, but a couple large barrels locked away inside one of my sheds will provide more than enough contingency water, or to help out my neighbors in time of need.

Went by today to pick up a few things, 100lbs of yellow corn, a few canned tvp meats, some pasta and they had #10 cans of bananas for 5.69 so i picked up a few. Then went to ammo bros ontario only 3 miles away and got 1k rounds of reloads, headed up to sams club also right up the street and got so other #10 cans and 200lbs of rice. Then since I was in the area went to my usual guy and bought 4 more 15$ 55 gallon food grade water barrels, I call it a great day

Today, a friend of mine and I drove up from San Diego to Honeyville Farms. Man was it worth it.

They have a huge selection in stock of #10 cans and bulk bags of freeze dried and dehydrated meats, fruits, vegetables and much more. Glad to find some powdered whey milk substitute, powdered margarine and powdered tomato paste. I managed to pick up all of what I needed to complete my SHTF food supplies.

Thank you and other Calgunners who have recommended this place.
