Any sporting goods store has them. Never used one, I just bring a 20gal drum of water and use a siphon hose. Its exhilarating if the weather is right.
You could hang a sun-shower up on the Big A-frame they have at the campsite for a skinning station. Might look funny with a pig hanging on either side of you while showering.
Seriously though, the flyin-j truckstop in frazier park is about 5 miles down the highway if you want to go that route. There are hotels there too.Hic Ego Statio

I bought 2 like these. The Chinese only make --->CRAP so you need to buy 2 in case one doesnt work out of the box or breaks later.

I have the Seattle Sports Camp Shower.
While it works well, it takes a long time to warm up. But the conditions I used it were rather severe for this type of shower.
I would fill the bag with water that was very cold. I would put the bag in the back of my truck in direct sunlight and it would take a good 6 hours to get nice and warm. Notice I didn't say hot.
Mind you the weather was cool, about 65-75 degrees and the water was cold.
As for Tejon area, I'm not sure what the weather is like down there this time of year.
My favorite bath method is a hot pot of water and a sponge bath. Then again, I'm a nurse so I'm cool with that.sigpic

Free is better
I lived on a small sailboat for 10 years, here is what I used. Get a 1 gal milk or water jug. Spray it flat black. Collect an extra top. Grab an ice pick and heat it on the stove. Use the hot ice pick to melt several holes in the top. You now have a shower. If after heating in the sun it isn't hot enough, heat part of the water on your camp stove.
These work great. They have a handle to hold the shower over your head and are easy to control. One can take a nice shower with a gallon of water. You do not have to be crazy to hang out with me. I'll train you!Comment

Some of the solar showers I've seen can be had for under $10. Fill them up and put them in the sun.
However, if you want to try the "po' man's solar shower", get a couple heavy duty black garbage bags. Contractor bags work great as you'd only need 1 they are thick enough.
Fill it up with the amount of water you think you'll be needing to take a quick shower. Tie a big knot at the top and hang it in the sun. When you need to shower, hang it above you somewhere and poke small holes in the corner to get the water flowing.
You'll have to work fast or figure out a way to stop the flow between lathering and rinsing but it works. Tie a knot in the corner where you poked the holes and refill for a 2nd shower. You could probably only do 2 at the most, maybe 3 if the bag is big enough.Comment

Another alternative are propane powered portable hot water heaters. No experience with any of them but I think I might pick one up just to see how it works. Might be worth it if you have extra $$ to spend.Comment

You know what works pretty good? Baby wipes! Just buy a bunch at Costco. Come shower time, just wipe yourself all over the place with them. Pat yourself dry with a towel and your good to go. I tried them last time we went off road camping and they work!Comment

This is what I do most of the time. Wipe-up areas, dry with towel, talc the junk and you're good to go. Oh yeah, dont forget to play the windHic Ego Statio

Er baby wipes but get a solar shower too. It feels oh so good to have hot water after a sweaty day.Originally posted by jmonte35Disagree. Been trying to teach lewdogg21 how to hunt. It's like trying to teach Steve Wonder how to see. Not sure we're ever going to get there.Comment

It's not solar, but I have a Zodi Hot Tap On-Demand Hot Shower (currently $99 at Walmart for the one with a soft case, I have the one with the hard case). I also have Zodi's collapsible shower pole.
I haven't had a chance to try it out, but I loaned it to my buddy for a camping trip and he said it worked great. He used a 5-gal bucket for a water container so he could take even longer showers. He said he needed to use a rock to weight down the intake hose in the bottom of the bucket, but other than that, no problems. The water was actually hot, vs. just warm like you'd typically get from a solar shower.Comment
