    Good solar powered emergancy radio?

There are a lot of options out there, but the reviews for most seem to be poor.

Are there any good ones? Would prefer something that does NOAA and S.A.M.E.

I have one of the Eaton's. Its a crank and not solar. The news Eaton's have more options than the older model I have.

I've bought several of these hand crank and solar Eton Microlinks - Good reviews on Amazon. The model with S.A.M.E is much more expensive.

My Freeplay models have served me well. This model may suit your needs (I have this exact one):

        It is solar and crank.

I have a CC Crane SW Pocket.
It's not solar, but it works great. I can hear SW broadcasts from all over the world with the thing, but mostly at night.
          Has weather bands as well.

          Here is der linkenheimer.

Edit: Peruse the CC Crane website, they have some fantastic emergency radios and such.

I do not know if it's still available but in Home Depot I got on clearance a Eton FR360 that's battery, solar, and crank powered. Also has NOAA, alarm clock, USB port to charge your cell phone, LED lights, and priced at $33 that normally goes for $42+. I should have purchased 2.

What ever you get be sure and keep it in a Faraday cage or an EMP will wipe it out.

I just ordered 2 of these from amazon.com. One to put in my BOB and the other for home.

Solar, hand crank, flashlight, cell phone charger and under $30!!

Will post a review when I get it.

Go with crank. No sun needed.

I have a Free play that my dad bought for Y2K which I thought wae silly but anyway I was using it and all of a sudden the radio made a screaming noise that scared the you know what out of me . What happened was the guts in the generator part broke and the noise was from the spring unwinding. The LED light failed immediatly .IMO I wouldn't trust one due to my experience.
