That looks like a winner. Not much for hiking, but would would great if we lost power and gas for a week at the house.

Another nice feature is it will not only use all kinds of liquid fuel (diesel, kerosene, gas, av-gas, etc.), but will also use the butane and butane/propane mix cans as well. They can be attached like the fuel bottle, remote from the stove which has some advantages as well, like when using a windscreen.

Haven't purchased it yet as I am still researching the pricing, but the best I have found so far is $120 + 10 S&H.

      .
      Primus Omni Fuel
      Optimus Nova +
      MSR XGK

are all basically at the same level. HOWEVER there is a reason why the pro's use the XGK.

All three stoves I listed burn the same gas, are relatively the same weight and in the same price range.

I wouldn't buy anything else. How many Primus or Optimus stoves are in Antarctica right now? None, MSRs? Quite a few.

The Kelly Kettle will be my next stove. Right now I have A MSR Whisperlite Internaitonal because of all the fuel choices. Also have a Trangia.

I like the Kelly Kettle because it uses wood or whatever you can find to burn.

Mine works so well it's almost funny. A full 1.7 liters in just about 5 mins (and I am talking roaring boil) from twigs and crap I find on the ground. Cooking on the top is also quite easy with the kit they provide.

My only suggestion is to go with the stainless model instead of the aluminium ones. Durability and cost were worth it for me. YMMV.

            $130.99 delivered.

Video is long, but very complete.

            Regards,
            Mike

The video was good. I did the math and the Kelly Kettle (smallest one) is in the range of the Whisperlite international with fuel bottle and fuel. Not bad.
