Bottled Water - Longterm storage

God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect.
Psalms 18:32 -
use glass bottles. Glass is inert.
... now excuse me while I go drink some 100 year old wine, so I can reuse the bottle for water.
... by the way, no need to rotate.Comment

I have tried to read stuff online about the 55 gal drums and I am a little confused. Some sites say 2 years rotate all the water some say it can go longer. Has anyone ever left water in a 55gal drum and tested it say 5 years, 10 years+ ? I was thinking the 55 gal drum also, right now I have like 6 flats of water bottles, I would prefer the 55 gal drum. Thanks guys
I have 3 - 5 gallon British military made plastic water cans that have water in them since 2006. Time to test drink before I rotate them. I normally go for the "every 3 year rotation" and I do drink several glasses full before I rotate. Basically use myself as a guinea pig. The way I look at it as long there's not outside intrusion in the container, container is topped off, away from direct sunlight, water is from a good source and filtered. Plus I sanitize anything that may come in contact with the water, it should store for a quite bit.Comment

Do both. The problems with 55 gal drums for the average person are 2 fold. One, filled they weigh 456 pounds. Next they are a single point of failure, one small leak in the hull can mean no more water. Using them is good, but for a total water plan you want to spread the risk and also have portability should you need to scoot - or simply move the water 50 feet to a safer place over debris.
Think your plan through.
I like "waterbricks" but they are expensive.
On storage of tap: Some bleach and tight seal is shelf stable for 5 years if stored properly. As I said, bottled factory water is processed aseptically (by law) and is almost indefinite storage if using high density plastics."Just leave me alone, I know what to do." - Kimi Raikkonen
The moment the idea is admitted into society, that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.' and that `Property is surely a right of mankind as real as liberty.'

maybe cause then youl buy more?I talked to arrowhead. The new style bottles with handles are bpa free and good for over 2yrs. My driver said a lot longer but I trust the consumer quality people more who said 2yrs...
Interestingly they said the springs as good as distilled which is opposite of what the driver said
just came up on a couple bottles that have been stored away for 5 years, tasted just fineComment
