    America = Powder Keg

    1 . Skyrocketing gas prices
    2 . Rising Food prices
    3 . Overspending Government
    4 . Terrorist / Enemies
    5 . Racial tension / Immigration

What one incident will set this thing off ? I don't know and hopefully nothing but if you look at whats going on. Utah making back up plans and using the gold standard , a number of Texas congressman writing up a plan to succeed from the Union if things don't change in a hurry. Not good , but some people are at least thinking about it.
The Plan for the Restoration of Constitutional Government

The only campaign with a full comprehensive plan to restore America to a constitutionally sound Republic. We address all of Americas issues and provide a solid solution to them all. Please spread the word, and spread the power!

Dream on. . . People don't resort to violence until they have nothing left to loose. (i.e. Libya, Egypt). The fact of the matter is, no matter HOW poor or HOW disenfranchised you feel here in America, you STILL have it better than most. No one in America is so poor and desperate that they will fight to overthrow the gov. (or even fight for peaceful political change btw). Every now and again we have a few crazies, that's it. No mass riots.

Hell even the Teaparty'ers I see at the rallies are usually on( r about to be on) Social Security- paid by the same overly large government they claim they don't want.

High gas prices - please we pay half of what Europe does, and it only hits those with the large (expensive) trucks and SUV's

High Food Prices - please - we in the US pay LESS than 8% of our household income on food. Food prices in the US have risen by only 2% in the previous year.

Gov. overspending. Didn't we scream at the Fed. to do SOMETHING to stop or ease the recession? All they can do is hire employees and spend money. (That's what FDR did in the 40's)

Look, I am getting tired a little of the dooms-dayers of late. Yes things are getting tough out there, but really as a country we have been through far far harder times.

1 - When have gas prices gone down? Yes the issue of the middle eastern climate is causing speculation prices to drift. Also consider the US dollar is worth less due to FED/Congress monetary policy. As a percentage of average income, it is still fairly manageable for the average US citizen. However yes, we as a country need to consider a lot of things about resourcing our own.

2 - When have food prices gone down? Much of the same reasons due to fuel, value of the US dollar, and of course the freeze that burned out a lot of supply, and world demand are all par for course. Also again, it is not the EOTW here, but pause for caution.

3 - I agree here, a major problem that must be curtailed and managed before we tip over. Pain must be felt here, and yes this will cause civil unrest, like Madison. But most Americans agree that the problem needs to be fixed.

5 - When have racial issues not been a problem in the US? If you look at US History, even just going back to the 50s-60s, you will see epic battles played out to the people. A lot of gun laws pushed out from them. Major tensions in the streets in urban and rural areas. There always is tension, but I will submit that actually times are better in the macro in regards to relations. However the media and internet makes conflicts much louder these days and easily disseminated. It is the increase in awareness that makes it seem so to the uninitiated.

Illegal immigration to me is not a racial matter and I will maintain that. For some it is on either side of the issue, but border control and removal of illegals from within the borders is a core business the Fed always should have been doing. The vast majority (I think over 75%) of Americans are on the same page in desiring harder enforcement and are against amnesty. I don't see this as a powder keg, but it sure does sell a lot of MSM tickets.

I hate doom and gloom and hopefully nothing to extreme happens , but there's definitely a bad vibe in the air and If our elected leaders don't get a handle on this thing pretty quick I see implosion.

Please, give me a break. America is in no way a powder keg. just because it gets a little difficult or inconvienceing dosnt mean its any way near destroyed.
people would complain if gas cost .50 a gallon, "why isnt it .25?". Have you ever been to Iraq or a third world country? those people wait in lines miles and miles long just to get gas thats mucho expensive for their piddley iraqi dinar. when I lived in Germany, it was like $9.00 a gallon. And that stuipd patriot nurse is a fear monger

The elected leaders will do just what they have been doing for the past 30 years. Trying to pacify the people by giving them things.

The people of USA, unlike The middle east today are armed.
                        This makes a big difference.

The taxes that we are required are already much greater than In europe and most of the rest of the world. Our burden is made much worse by the expences that we are required to pay in excess of taxes such as fees, Insurance, Medical and dental expences so on and so forth.
Im most of the rest of the world where they pay high taxes there are no added fees and insurance is cheap. You dont need a car to get to work because you can live near work and just walk. No so here with zoning. You are forced to drive and incure the expences in doing so.

If every tax paying american sent their entire pay check for the year to the FED it would take 3 years to pay off the debt. This does not include the States own debt. They are at the point now where they need to borrow money from china just to pay the interest on the debt. Sounds like the guy who is cashing out his credit cards and pawning off his toys just to pay his gambeling debt. It always ends abruptly and badly.

We are at this moment swirling around the proverbial drain. It is not a question of if something will happen, It is a matter of when. There are many senerios and they are all bad.

So then do you all think that though that we are on the edge of an economic meltdown? I agree no matter how bad things are we still have it much better than most. I'm just curious to see how much the average American is willing to take.

On a scary paranormal kinda note, my wife passed away 2 years ago. After her death her sister came to me and said she had a dream and her sister came to visit her. Before she left her, her parting words were get out of California because things are gonna get crazy out here in 2012 and you don't want to be there for it.

It is not just economic. It is society. We are being divided at every junction and being forced to accept things that we dont want to accept by people who we see as our employees.

Lets say you have a business and an employee has a gambling problem, woman problem, attitude problem, likes to give too much money to the street people, doesnt want to lose his job and is completely maxed out on his credit cards and has a 4th mortgage on his house. He is a gun collector and likes to push people around.
Would you give him more of your money when he asks you for it? And if you say no what do you think he is capable of doing to you or others to get his fix and pay his bills???

This is the situation we are in now.
