Question about Rabbit Snares

Are rabbit snares legal to use in California? Any rules and regulations on this?

Not legal for normal hunters in CA, see the hunting regulations here. Rabbits are "resident small game" and snares aren't authorized as a method of taking them as per 311. However, per 311(g) box traps are OK for taking rabbits in San Diego and Orange counties.

Snares are forms of traps and they can be used to take furbearers in some circumstances, see here further down in the hunting regulations.
