How could a civilization that mastered the planet suddenly Collapse? Inspired by the New York Times best-selling book "Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed", NGC time travels 200 years into the future to see what the world would look like after civilization as we know it collapsed. Guided by author Jared Diamond, we'll piece together the remarkable story of what on earth triggered our decline.

Diamond wrote Guns, Germs and Steel which won the Pulitzer and is one of my favorite books of all time.

The "Collapse" book came out after Guns, Germs and Steel and basically is a series of case studies throughout time that shows why some societies collapsed and disappeared and some modified their activities and survived. Think Easter Island, the Maya, the Incas and the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. It's not much about what the world will look like after TSHTF.

To sum it up they said we are much like Rome. Rome fell because of massive overspending and greedy politicians excessively taxing its citizens and taking their houses and land.

      Sound familiar?

        Yes it does.
I was very surprised that they talked about Rome debasing their currency and going into hyper inflation. That is the way all empires have fallen.

You know the end is near when they start showing TEOTWAWKI TV shows.

My thoughts are we keep spending like we are now and collapse the economy. One of our enemies sees us going down and tosses a HA EMP at us and finishes us off forever and there is no way we can ever come back. The EMP might even be followed by an invasion to take everything we have like our resources.

http://www.empcommission.org/docs/A2...ission-7MB.pdf (WHY WE GIVE OUR ENEMIES THIS TOP SECRET INFO IS BEYOND ME?)

We are so vulnerable right now.

I wonder if NObama would EMP the country that EMP'd us?

USA will never be taken over by military invasion. Not only our military kickass but too many gun owning citizens.

During cold war, Russia did simulation of USA invasion and conculsion was they will never pacify America because too many Gun owning citizens. Their loss from military and arm citizens will be too great to control the population.

That is what my friends in military tells me and I tend to agree with them.

I also heard Chinese Generals said publically that in conventional warfare, even China cannot defeat US arm forces in frontal battle.

But social and economically take over of USA... that is different story, it is happening already. Chinese Economically, Islam religiously, Mexican socially...

In 100 years or sooner, we might be speaking spanish, going to mosque, and carry yuan bills... if we don't wake-up...

Thank your neighbor and fellow gun owners for passing Prop 63. For that gun control is a winning legislative agenda.
