Tactical vest - Good deal or no?

Cheaper Than Dirt! is America's Ultimate Shooting Sports Discounter, and we live up to that title. Expect bulk ammo deals, discounts, gun care accessories and more

Stumbled across this while i was looking for a MOLLE tri fold shovel pouch (which i'm still looking for by the way so if anyone knows of a place). It seems like a good deal, I mean it comes with literally EVERYTHING lol. What do you guys think?

Also do you know if they make double "male" MOLLE adaptors? like ones that will clip on both sides? trying to mount my knife sheath on my bpack sholder strap.

No experience with this but I have UTG 42" tactical gun case and it is very well made and thought out. Will be getting one of the other vests from ctd with the cross draw holster

Don't know about the vest, but I don't care for the drop leg holster from UTG. It sits solidly on the leg, but the holster itself lets the gun wiggle around quite a bit which can make running or even walking fast kind of challenging. I used one briefly on deployment to carry an M-9, after an entire day of it shifting around on my leg I was pretty irritated with it. Once they finally issued me a Blackhawk SERPA I could feel a huge difference in the way it carried. IMHO, drop leg holsters should be made of more rigid material like kydex or similar plastic.

The vest looks like it might be decent though

looks pretty cool. I hope that it is constructed to last. let us know what you think if you end up getting one.

Ya so far the only complaints I've heard other people have about them is the drop holster as well. I wont be using the holster rather just the drop pannels so i think i'm good. I think i'm gonna get it, its 99 bucks, thats a bargain

I would say its airsoft quality. Its going to be ill fitting (I don't know your size, but my experience, one size fits all stuff doesn't fit very well), and the cordura density is lower than first tier gear.

And you want to think about what you want. If you just want to be kitted out and look tacticool, it'll be perfect to you. But if you get serious after that, you'll see the deficiencies of the UTG gear. I see alot of junk being bundled and offered together like drop leg platforms that make it difficult to run.

Go lightweight, get a molle belt and suspenders. Look, you probably have a semi right, you probably aren't going to burn through hundreds of rounds of ammunition so you only need 3-4 spare rifle mags, a pistol, two spare pistol mags, knife sheath, flashlight pouch, maybe dump bag and a small first aid kit.

                and

Literally, all the molle real estate you need.

The one in your link is Army standard issue equipment. Its a good base vest and the CTD stuff is not better quality I promise.

This man speaks the truth! Lighter is always better!
If you think your going to carry that much stuff for hours on end in a SHTF situation and itll be comfortable your mistaken. Even in a training environment you only want the essentials-Water, Ammo, woobie.

The belt and suspenders giges you plenty of room for rifle and pistol mags, water, pyro if you have it, and a buttpack for the woobie-dont leave home without it!

Yeah but unfortunately they dont carry nearly enough stuff. It may carry all of my magazines, but what about my knives? my compass and pouch? my maps? my entrenching tool? spent brass? spent magazines? medic kit? phone/walkie? I can keep going on.

And for the record I'm not getting it to look "tacti-cool" as you put it. I really do use this stuff all of the time on my hunting / hiking / fishing trips, works better than carrying some beheamouth of a backpack and everything is right there and easily accessible. I bought a MOLLE 2-3 day pack last year and I love it, the only problem is that it doesn't quite hold everything. Additionally when you wanna get stuff out you gotta go delving into all the stuff in there and pretty much unpack to get one small thing. Much rather carry my clothes and food and campsite gear in the bag and stuff that i will need on my person.

Still doesnt fix my problem. Already thought about it, but there isn't enough space on the belt and suspenders, plus my backpack would cover like half the MOLLE webbing and to put the webbing in front seems rediculous and impractical having all my pouches sitting in front of my waist. I just have this strange feeling i'd get hi-cap magged in the nuts a lot. Besides having all my magazines at hip level seems like it would be more difficult to run in than a few drop leg pannels.

True I could but this is essentially the same thing unless you're talking about a plate carrier. Either way I folded and bought this one. So I'll let you all know what I think and I'll keep you posted
