    Henness Pass Camping Recommendations

Planning a trip over Henness Pass once the snow clears in early/mid-summer, starting from Verdi and traveling west. I realize it's an easy one-day run, however am interested in any recommendations on favorite camping spots to make it a 2-day run, as well as any cool points of interest. We like geology and gold rush era history.

Well the route will take you by many lakes in the Bowman Lake Complex. PG&E have campgrounds at Meadow Lake that I like, although there is a fee. Further for your geology kick you can take the route up to old Baltimore Town and there are several mines (honestly there are mines all over that whole area) I've climbed down several and removed and removed gold bearing load ore.

If you're really bored you can try and find the pictographs at French Lake.

I recommend swinging through Casey's Place in Allegheny. It's a "club" so you join it, 1 page paperwork there.

There cool campsites on the Pinoli Ridgeline too
