Target shooting open range

Anybody have ideas where i can bring my son for dad's introductory gun handling without RO/ general public stress to contend with? I used to go to BLM land, but fire restrictions are putting a damper on my plans. I'm in SF bay area, but am willing to travel.

Panoche Hills is supposed to open next month, but with this drought they might postpone for a bit.

some outdoor ranges have "bays" you can rent where you are alone with whoever you bring and you are allowed to draw and other things you can't do at an indoor range.
