i have the maccoupler refiller you have to put the empty disposable in the freezer for a while it keeps the incoming propane from immediatly turning to gas
disposables do not blow up because they have an overpressure safety its that little hole on the top unless you refill some one that is really pitted with rust
it does take a little bit of smarts
also it helps if you have brass bottle caps for your bottles that do not reseal fully
such as these (i do not vouch for the seller)
you don't need one for every bottle just the ones that hiss a little you can often get them to reseal by poking the shrader with a nail to reseat it
i would have gone broke if not refilling
honestly you might want to cut out the middleman and buy a "propane cabinet heater" they have the same safetys as a buddy but take a 20 pounder they are all the same 3 settings 6000,12,000,18,000 but only using 6k heat it will last 72 hours
now is not a good time to buy one if you wait till summer you can often get a cabinet heater for like $60 delivered now the cheapest i can find is $120 or so
the brands are dynaglo,comfortglow,buddy/mr heater,remington,master,protemp
oooh i glossed over q2
some hoses have regulators some do not the ones that do not attach to appliances that have a built in regulator
but beware when using bulk propane the hose can offgass and clog internally the regulator of a buddy type heater they sell an inline filter to prevent this
things that want the hose with a built in regulator
bbqs
refrigerators
deep fry burners
the big buddy with built in quick connect fittingLast edited by bohoki; 02-02-2022, 5:17 PM.
