    Pinnacles

Pinnacles national park is mostly open. Ranger office closed but there is no day use fee, only camping fee. Eastern access allows driving to Old Pinnacles trailhead, and Bear Gulch parking for the three trails. Caves are closed (but I am too old to go crawling through...) Western access is also open. Both are good places to day hike.

Did you know that Pinnacles is what remains of the core of an ancient volcano and it sits on the San Andreas fault? And that it's only one half of the volcano? The other half is down in Southern California.

Yes. Neenach. The other half is down in the Gorman area.
