Showing off my new hiking backpack- Gregory Paragon 48

My girlfriend got me the Gregory Paragon 48 as a Christmas present last year and the funny thing, she doesn't like hiking or backpacking so she's probably giving me a hint and wants me to get lost in the woods! lol

It's pretty similar to the Osprey Krestral I believe. It's weighs 3.5lbs, comfortable, and carries the weight really well. As far as durability? I've only taken three trips with it so I don't know yet, but its solidly built.

If you're looking for a backpacking pack, check out my video going over the pack.

Cool video. It would probably be a good fishing trip pack if there is a way to hold a rod well. I thought you were going to show us if a pistol fit in the hip pouch, LOL.

The editing and placing the features of the pack overlayed on a topo map was a nice touch! Nice video. Glad to see it filmed out in the wild.

Does it have an internal sleeve to hold a water bladder and a cut out? Cool to see they give you a rain fly!

I like Osprey packs because they get you a water bladder sleeve and they used to be able to change out the hip straps.

The Gregory packs are good. I've used several for BSA hikes. Great value as deals on those can be found more so than Osprey.

I still mostly use my external frame REI Wonderland from the late 80s. Carries weight well for long trips when you need to carry 6 or so days of food. Bear canisters fit too although I've never had a bear problem. One just needs to be responsible with how they hang their food. Just like alcohol stoves which are fine if one knows how to use it, and be responsible with it. Of course, we have these regulations because of the masses that include those that don't know how.

If you see one at a garage sale in good shape, get one cheap as a backup. You'll never know when you might need it for a party that joins your trip.
