    Where to go?

Gas is so cheap, we are bored, please pitch in with ideas on one day road trips around SoCal
Not interested in going places to eat

East Mojave. Lots of open space, few people.

Do you have a 4x4 and want some adventure?

You have tons of trails down there. For the 1 day part though you might have to designate a township.

        Bodie Ghost town is scenic.

Vasquez Rocks when it re-opens if you have never been.
          (I just called, shut down.)

Many movies and TV shows have been filmed there.

PLEASE NOTE: This site is currently under construction.  Please check back for new additions, information, and fun things to check out!  We hope to see you here and in the park soon!

Maybe just a drive through Angeles Crest Highway into the San Gabriel mountains for some scenery.

Maybe head out around Calico, the town is probably shut but theres miles of trails and tons of mines that you can explore, and a lot of canyons and areas that you can shoot in

Bodie is probably closed, but thats a good 6-10hr drive from anywhere in ie, oc, lac, or SD

Yea but the trail systems is what I was leaning towards.

The campgrounds are closed which is stupid.

Kern is pretty long so this might be too far; but if you're up for a trip check out Sherman pass (more aggressive, larger rocks but doable in just about any 4x4) and Monache Meadow. Its an easy 4x4 pass with excellent scenery. light technicals and no real rock crawling, but plenty of side paths you could get your flex on.
