    Yo Yo Fishing

I was just finding these and think that so long as you put it on the end of a line with a rod and attend it, it's perfectly legal in CA. Then its just a part of your line, elaborate, but still part of the line. If you have a bottle on there it's just a large float. I discussed with the DFG using RC boats for trolling and they are ok with it so long as you have a line from a rod going to the rc boat. Seems like the same thing. You just have to maintain control over it which you do with the line.

If you say yo yo fishing to a California saltwater fisherman, they will have a completely different understanding of what you're referring to.

There's nothing like winding up that jig fast and having it stop mid column. Then the line starts going out and your drag starts screaming. And you know you've got a nice yellowtail on the other end of the line.

SamIAm has got the only yo-yo fishing I know about. Are you talking about some auto-snare gimmick?
      They're creating chaos
So they have something to save you from.

When I was a kid in Louisiana, my grandfather would always cut the top line of any yo-yos we came across and just drop them in the bayou. Any unattended line was fair game to cut away in his eyes.
