Where to go camping on a OHV trail in the Sierra National Forest?

Can I just stop by the side of the road and set up camp anywhere? Or do I have to camp a a designated area?

With snow-capped peaks as your backdrop, we invite you to come and discover the “Heart of the Sierra."

Do you wheel it or just looking for fire roads/trails to explore? If you wheel it, what difficulty are you looking for?

Depends on where you are in the forest, sometimes you can find a clearing and set up, other times youre supposed to stick to the trails and leave nature undisturbed.

You're better off picking something cool to see and making a trip out of it. Something like the Aurora Cemetery is an awesome historical site, the town has been pretty much wiped away after the years but the old gold rush era cemetery on top of the hill is mostly intact. It's a slightly challenging trail to it but pretty manageable with great views and area to set up a camp and tons of old mining ruins to explore

(N38° 17.475 W118° 54.080) The irony of Aurora is that although the town has been completely wiped out the cemetery is a lot more preserved....
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

head up to mammoth and drive the 203. find a dirt road and drive until you find a nice spot. once you found it...dont tell anyone about it and enjoy 4 day weekends out there with not a soul in sight.

the ranger station has a map of the network of fire roads and guess what. as long as its far outside of town you can shoot back there as well but be CLEAN!!!
