Cheap, Close Shooting Spot? (Los Angeles)

We're in South Los Angeles County, and looking to have a group shooting day, complete with BBQ and boomboxes. Most of the group have never handled firearms before. We'll go over safety, and the experienced shooters will each work with a few of the inexperienced and first-time shooters. We'll of course pack all of our trash out, including our brass.
This is all co-workers and their families, and we're projecting 20-40 people. We just don't know where to go.

We could do a private range I guess, but I think most of them charge per person, which isn't ideal for a group of our size. I could head out to Cuddeback or some other BLM land, but I think those kind of spots are all kind of far away. Ideally, we're looking or a place under 90 minutes away from South LA County.

Do any of you have any ideas for locations?
Also, I'd assume many of you have organized small events like this yourselves. I'd love any feedback in the way of tips or ideas that made your trip fun, or would have made your tip better.

We're hoping to plan this for a weekend in September or October.

    Thanks for your time.

Those crickets you are hearing should tell you what you don't want to hear. There are NO, close, cheap shooting spots anywhere near LA.

That's what happens when gun owners bury their heads in the sand instead of getting involved in politics

ok, so forget the under 90 minutes part... where is the closest place that would be good for our group?

I think you can rent a private range at burro canyon, above azusa. Don't know about the boomboxes though.

Given your group description, I wouldn't share my secret spot with you either.

I can think of a bunch of places in Los Angeles County I'd love to see you and your friends shoot up.
