I don't have much wind time, but I sailed El Toros back in the day. My bud says that the Channel Islands are within our reach. I suggested Angel Island instead of the PACIFIC OCEAN .

I guess it would depend what you liked better, speed or company. PAX

The Egret was the boat that Civilized the Keys. She was the Commodore's favorite.

Met some builders who could put a clone together.

These NIS Egret Clones win a lot of races.

Those old Chris Craft boats are beautiful. The steering looks like an old Banjo steering wheel out of a late 30's or early 40's Ford car.

In '76, my spousal unit and I were fortunate enough to get invited on a Chris Craft resto, that the guy was putting some slow time on. A 1956 57 footer, twin GMC diesels. He said it was the last year built of dual mahogany ply. It was/is the finest machine thing I ever road on. It had been in dry dock for 9 years while they went through it. They bought it in Florida where it had been sitting since new, worked on it for a week, fired it off, headed for the canal, up the west coast to Alameda, where it sat again until they finished it. He was the Harbor Master there. PAX

                              The kid just said

Build a Viking Warship and get Calgunners to crew. Pillage up and down the west coast. She is a genius.

I have been looking at this

World-class boat kits, boat plans, and boatbuilding materials. More than 20,000 CLC boats are on the water: Kayaks, Canoes, Sailboats, and more.
