You can find plenty of spots off the 15 in Apple Valley. All you need is 30-50 yards max or zero the aimpoint. Exit Hodge Road and find a spot you like.

Probably not paranoid, sounds more live one of the basement-dwellers who give the internet a bad name. Just put him on your ignore list.

To shoot on BLM land, you need to know where it is. I like the paper maps, called BLM Desert Access Guides. Look up the county shooting regulations, have to comply with those. When you find a likely area, call BLM ranger and ask them. Then start driving.

Shooting spots are treated exactly like fishing holes or hunting spots. It takes time and effort to find them, and they can be ruined.

Where do you get this information? I'm 5 minutes from BLM land in Kern county and BLM has NEVER said anything to us about it being off limits.

        Any quotes from BLM sites??

If you want flat, car-friendly, public land shooting solitude, then you will be driving well past Barstow.
