    Mt. Baldy Hiking open carry?

Hey guys and gals, I'm planning on hiking up in the Mt. Baldy loop. I was wondering if I can open carry loaded/unloaded. It seems like the only option would be to carry unloaded, which kinda sucks. But i'd honestly rather have something than nothing.

Doesn't matter what time of year it is, there is way too much traffic going up and down Baldy for open carry to be a viable option. My buddy and I did it in the spring time and there must have been one hundred fifty plus other people on the trail that day. I usually carry on long hikes in remote areas, but Baldy is too short and too crowded. Stow it in your pack if you must bring it, but otherwise save yourself the weight.

Sierra Club members are the most dangerous thing on that trail...at least until the first snowfall.

You sir are micro-aggressive and need additional sensitivity classes before you go into the woods. You are totally inconsiderate of the milleniums who think that firearms kill people.

What does that have to do with anything?

If you are in the NF or BLM and there are no "special" Forest/BLM Orders restricting it, then you can open carry loaded. see MudCampers post below.

OP is asking whether or not it is LEGAL to open carry while hiking Mt. Baldy.

OP is not asking for your OPINION on whether or not you think OP should carry on the hike..

                    - National Forests, Federal, US Forest Service, US Department of Agriculture - firearms and shooting welcomed but CA state law applies - see *2

California law say no to LOC and UOC. So even in a national forest it is illegal.
