Just went through all the research on smaller lightweight chainsaws, I went with the Echo cs-400. Only a few tanks of gas into her, but so far I'm impressed....... Cut everything from 1" oak limbs to felling 12" oak trees!

My little chainsaws are Dolmar jr. My big saws are Dolmars and a couple Stihls. I got a Poulan from WalMart for a loaner/nasty job saw. It's a little bigger and heavier than my little Dolmars, but it's been a good saw.

These work great up to about 1/3", tight places so you can get to the big stuff. Ozark proven.

For brush clearing, I really like the weed-whacker head units with a chainsaw attachment. Since the chainsaw is on a pole, you don't have to bend over to whack at the bottom of the tree (ends up saving your back like you wouldn't believe). Also, you can get to the stuff that is just out of reach. For the rest of the brush, just swap a brush cutter attachment and you're good to go for everything up to around 1".
