I decided to splurge on a new knife, figured this will see 100x the use of my other knives anyway

Waiting for arrival of Ferrum Forge Gent in rosewood scales - should arrive Friday

Titanium liner lock, CPM S35VN steel, 2.4 oz . Planning to replace my current EDCs (Boker Urban Trapper or CRKT Ripple) and figure the drop point will be more versatile. For <$100 it looks like a pretty amazing deal. Not sure I'm gonna love the clip, but it looks very stealthy with the deep carry (will look like a ball point pen in the pocket)

Picked up a Kershaw Barricade (8650) off of Amazon for <$25. Inexpensive rescue knife: seat belt cutter, glass breaker, flipper + assisted opener, no lock.

I won't be surprised if others "complain" about this "defect" when they finally get their knives but can't figure out how to close them. LOL!

Needless to say, I will not be carrying the Provoke very often if at all. It's an interesting knife and I'm going to keep it but compared w/my Bastinelli/Marcaida Pika (that I am currently carrying) it's like comparing a Porsche w/a bloated and overloaded Suburban. Just ain't no comparison.

I haven't bought a CRKT for ages and it was a fixed camp knife (Sawtooth 2000) that they sold with a decent leather sheath for $20 or $30.

Thinking about it it, I probably never had a CRKT folder.... if I did, can't recall or the memory is blocked out.

CRKT, Boker, Gerber... I don't buy anymore for some reason. I guess there's no reason to change now.

Def a great price on it! How do you like the action?

Besides look and feel, fit/finish... I'll post exact weight for you later. Should be about 2.9 ounce, but I'll weigh mine. Great little knife.

No argument here. It's a term of endearment - 'beater'.

Did their job on 4 huge wild pigs today.
In fact, it was an 'all hands on deck' outing.

Knocking on 4 years. Those knives have taken, ahem, a real beating. We use them in the garden, field and boat. We've used them to dig up root vegetables and great for weeding the garden too; real 'beaters' those knives. I'm not sure if I'd dig around the dirt and weed with any of my other knives. Besides why would I? That's what my 'beater' knives are for. [emoji16]

As I've said before they clean up real well.
