Recommend a Budget Tactical Folder

So I'm looking for a tactical folder in the 3"-4" range. Before you ask, no I will not carry it, it is purely going to be a fondling knife. I like the looks of the CRKT M16-14S but that knife is $85, way above budget for a fondling knife. Anything good in the 3-4" blade length for closer to $40? Preferably $25.

You can spend a little more and get a Spyderco C41, they usually go for around $65. It got a really nice S30V blade.

Try Big 5 for knives in that price range. Known as "wonder knive" because if you loose it you won't wonder where you lost it.

picked up a couple of Kershaw fixed blade knives for skinning/gutting out animals after slaughter. Made in America, and only about $20 bucks ea.

As far as my suggestions go here they are.

First up is the new budget Kershaw line. I have no personal experience with these 3, but I have heard excellent things about them EXPECIALLY in the price range. They are on the heavy side and only offer tip down carry, but if it is just for fondling then these should be a prime candidate. If you do decide to use it around the house or even out and about these will perform well. Three different "flavors" to choose from.

Next is the Ontario RAT-1. These are excellent for the price. They come in some cheap looking box, but do not let it fool you. These are actually very nice knives for the price. If you go with a RAT-1 stick with the stainless blade. The black coated blades on the RAT models sucks. The grip is very comfortable.

A little bit outside the box, but not really. A Leatherman Freestyle. Very minimum tool selection. Basically pliers with a blade. Fiddle factor is high on this one though not to mention the utility. No flicking the blade out on this one though. Maybe if you really loosened up the pivot.

More Kershaws. First up is the new(ish) collaboration with Emerson. While I find the whole line incredibly well made for its price point in my opinion the fiddle factor is low on these. I hate the disc opener as it makes it hard to deploy the knife and these come with the blade very tight. Excellent knife worth mentioning, but fiddle factor is not their. This is just one of 8 models in the line.

Another Kershaw. The Cryo. This should be a top contender for your needs. It is a well made knife. Solid build and feel. It is a assisted opener (with flipper) so the fiddle factor is out the roof. I would take a serious look into this knife. It comes in many different finishes and blade shapes, but this was the cheapest one.

Spyderco Persistence. This is a excellent blade. They come in smaller and larger sizes. This is somewhere in the middle of the pack size wise. This would be up their in knives to consider in my opinion. A excellent proven knife. Simple as that.

That's a very good selection of knives Bay area. I do not want to carry it because I did not want this thread to get derailed with people discussing knife laws in various areas. I wanted the discussion to be strictly about the knives themselves.

Those Kershaw emersons look really nice but I think they are mostly sub 3"

Yeah I think the 8K is pretty ugly. Those grips just don't look ergonomic whatsoever.

That and I am not into tanto blades. To top it off it is a chisel ground blade. That is the only one in that line that is chisel ground.

I have 6 different folders and I just rotate them out and carry one everyday. For my EDC I stay under the 3" mark.

That's a nice rotation. You just need to add two more so you can have a different knife for every day of the week.
