Bow sight questions

Using a 3 pin now and I want to add some distance to my shots. Are you guys moving over to or away from 5 pins to an adjustable single pin, learning to add distance with a 3 pin or staying with a 5 pin?

I bought a very good but not great hunting sight about 1.5 years ago,and it's a spot Hogg 5 pin. Single pins were available, but this was recommended to me by my local shop.

What do you want to use it for? Hunting, target, 3d, or everything?

When I was shooting weekly, about the same time frame, target only guys were using magnifier sights and everyone else, iirc, was using multi pins.

Edit, where are you located? Soucal has a couple really good now shops, I can recommend hi tech archery in Fullerton without hesitation. Not as cheap as the Internet, but in something where I need expertise, I spend locally. Very good people,

I forget to mention. This would be for hunting and target shooting to keep and improve the skills.

I have a 7 pin sight and like it. Some people complain that more pins obscures your field of view, I would agree but only to a very small extent. Single pin systems are all the rage now, but I don't like having to set the slider to the right distance, I find locating the right pin way easier with less chance of messing up. When I first got the sight, I would infrequently line up on the wrong pin, but you get used to it and now, its automatic. I like shooting from 50 - 80 yards, which is what the extra pins give me. It's a compromise, as a pure hunting bow would do well with a 5 pin or less system. I use one bow for everything (hunting, target, 3d).

I use a 4 pin site set at 20-30-40-50 and anything out beyond that I have gotten practiced up enough to aim higher I have some friends who use 2 loops for release and bottom one is used for making any site like having twice as many pins.

I will only use an armortech hd 5 pin. The pins are small and precise for precision, very bright(especially with a rheostat), and the sight is very very durable. All my bows have them now. They are not cheap though

I have been using a Trophy Ridge React sight and have no issues with it. You must dial it in exactly as instructions show. Once 20 and 30 yard pins are set the 40, 50 and 60 are automatically set. Seems crazy but it works. They now also have a single pin React sight as well. have also heard good things about IQ sights but haven't actually had any experience with them.

Look at the spot hogg "tommy hogg" 3 pin sight. I have my pins set at 20, 30, and 40 yards. I can then dial out to further distances.

I use a Sword Trident Competition with a .010 single adjustable pin. Highly accurate but does require time and know-how to set up and shoot. I don't hunt but target shoot so precision and accuracy is key for me.

A 3 or 5 pin slider sight could be a consideration that allows fast acquisition at closer ranges with more precision for further distances.

It's a Fuse Profire. Very light weight. With .019 pins, very bright.
Not micro-adjust.

Toxonics used to make a 5 pin that had a dial adjust for the pin cage. Not legal to compete in bowhunter freestyle class, but good for dialing up those 80 yd plus shots at the 3d shoots or field range. I dont know about anyone else, but I would not take a shot on game at more than 60 yds., and I've been shooting at a pretty high level for awhile. I shoot a Sure-loc sight with a viper scope nowadays. Before a 3d comp, I go and reverify my marks out to 110 yds. By shortening or lengthening sight arc you can stretch the yardage out without the arrow hitting the scope.
