    Benchmade Grip vs. 710

Been thinking about a new knife, and was pretty set on the Grip, like the customization option and was going to get the sheepsfoot blade, but started reading up on the 710, and seems like an awesome knife after seeing the benchmade video of the 710 cutting all the different materials. Tough choice now, only about $50 difference too.

710 in D2 is leaps and bounds above the grip! Not that the grip is a bad knife, but the 710 is more refined, slimmer, and has a longer blade! I have both, and the grip has been relegated to the tacklebox.

So the 710 is worth the extra $$$? The primary use will be EDC, opening stuff, cutting stuff like cardboard and such etc..

another question, never had a sheepsfoot blade before, so what uses would a blade like that be useful for?

Yes it is. I've carried one for years and it has always done the job from cutting fruit to cutting rope.
          Its a great blade.

A 710 will last and serve you a long time. Had this one since it was introduced ATS34 blade. Been a true workhorse, EDC knife.

thanks for the feedback. Need one that can be abused, recently dropped my S&W M&P from just a few inches and now the assist opening stopped working, hard to close etc.

710 is the original axis lock. I really like it because of all the features and the way it fits my hand.

Benchmade as a company is great. At SHOT show I showed them my 710 and they gave me every different clip they make for it because the finish on my clip was wearing off. Now mine sports a titanium coated clip from their Gold line.
Their customer service is top notch. As long as you dont lose your knife, you can trust that you will have a fully functioning sharp knife forever. Send it back for a tune and sharpening whenever you want.

Last time I sent all my benchmades in for a sharpen, I felt naked without it and realized how much I like the axis lock after carrying a made in china liner lock 5.11 knife.

Buy quality American made and keep it until you pass it down to your kids.
