At 2 different archery stores I have been advised against single (vertical) pin sights. The main argument being that you have to stop and adjust the pin for varying ranges while with the horizontal multi-pin sights you simply raise the bow to the middle or lower pins.
      FWIW...

ETA I am a big fan of vertical posts like on the AccuPoint rifle scope or a Number 4 Reticle on my rifles, so i may try that AccuPin as well.

Are you using it for hunting or targeting shooting?

I mainly use a slider single pin sight but I only shoot targets.

          My application will be hunting.

It's either the single post or a 7pin. That's a lot of pins

problem with single pin is you can sometimes forget the actual distance and miss altogether, in the heat of the moment and excitement, when that trophy buck finally is within range, after hours of hiking, waiting and tracking.. you take the shot only to miss because your pin was set at 40 yards and the buck was actually at 20 yards...

I like the Spot Hogg.. 3-5 pin is realistic, any more is confusing

I'm using the 5 pin now. Pinned out to 60. How ever that trophy buck was at 80 with another one. I would get with in 80. They would move 50. For 3hrs. Then they ran away.

You might also want to consider a 3 or 5 pin slider sight.

At zero, the pins will be good out to 60 yards with no adjustments in the heat of the moment.

If you do need go further, the bottom pin with the slider will allow longer distances.

With a Bow, I don't really feel comfy taking game pass 50yards but that is just me.. too much can happen.. like the buck jumps when he hears your bow..

                    Agreed.

Unless someone can CONSISTENTLY shoot melon-sized groups at ~50 yards with broadheads in the heat of the moment and not warmed up, keeping it under that distance is a safe and ethical move.

My suggestion for hunting would be a simple 3, 4 or 5 pin sight, with decreasing pin sizes. Truglo makes some nice ones. Check these out. Comes in 3, 5 or 7 pin models with different colors and either a fixed base or adjustable dovetail base.

I found the spot hog adjustable. I might go that rout. Want to see it in action
