A folding knife with 200 blades.

    V (crown) R
    J. Rodgers and Sons
    No. 6 Norfolk Rd.
    Sheffield

During the reign of Victoria, VR = Victoria Regina (Queen Victoria).

This changed from George IV, William, Victoria, Edward VII, George V. (Five Monarchs).

E (crown) R = Edward VII Rex (King Edward VII) a playboy scandal sheet son of Victoria named Albert Edward and called Bertie. His father was also an Albert and is on the Prince Albert tobacco can (Victoria's husband).

This was the biggest knife maker in the world by far for over 100 years and they created a knife in the early 1820's with one blade. Each year another blade was added. It now has over 200 blades.

This is about 15 years ago in their showroom:

Rodgers & Sons knives have a registered trade mark six point star beside a maltese cross.
Most large Bowie knives in America in the 1800s came from Sheffield, England, like Rodgers. But their specialty was pocket knives.

Looks like a Victorian Christmas tree.
May God bless America, and may America bless God!
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. - ll Chronicles 7:14
