Is Ka-Bar knife legal in CA?

Is Ka-Bar knife legal in CA? If it's legal, then must it be stored or transported? What are the laws on them? Thanks.

    Short answer: YES, LEGAL.

    Longer answer: legal for what?

Why might you think KABAR would be treated differently from Cold Steel or ESEE?

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I have 2 Ka Bar knives. 1 USMC with leather sheath, the other is a more modern US Navy Ka Bar knife.
Legal to possess? No different than possesing kitchen knives.

Carrying them in public can be a problem in some citys/towns in Ca.

Is Ka-Bar knife legal in CA?

I believe in CA you have to deal with State, County and City rules for carry so if any of them say no go, you can?t carry. I believe a Ka-Bar would be legal to own and carry in your home for now.

In Los Angeles city, I believe the would be illegal for carry though not illegal per CA state law, or at least the last time I bothered to care.

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. K bars are fine . It's the file on nail clippers that will get you thrown under the jail. Same thing goes for sporks.

I own one that was gifted to me. I see them from time to time on the belts of motorcycle enthusiasts. One guy I know got into trouble because his flannel shirt covered up part of the exposed knife from view by a police officer.

LA city has laws against carrying fixed blades. Thats what will get you in trouble for it. Best I can tell you just cant carry fixed blades at all in the city regardless of it being open or concealed.

LA bans blades longer than 3", so a 7" KA-BAR is going to be a no-go there.
