Gerber Paul Value?

It has been in my possession since the late 1970s. Model 2-PW

No box, no paper...... Dark wood scales...... It has been sharpened, ...... Used, but very lightly...... A small light scratch on blade, that will easily buff out.

Never cared for the squeezy button release, so never carried much. Forgot I even had it until today.

Can't say for sure, but I know my wife paid about 350 for mine about 20 years ago, though instead of wood on the handle, it's got mammoth ivory. I really like mine, though I almost never carry it.

Looked at completed sales and it appears right around 200, give or take, would be the current price for your knife.

That is a very nice knife. According to this website it is a very late production "LONE WOLF PAUL".

Yes, I knew it wasn't the same as the Gerber marked knives, but it's similar. I'll never get rid of it.

I have further questions regarding the Gerber Pauls.

Mine is what I have been told is a very early example. Due to the lack of etching on the blade itself. Just the stampings on base of blade. And the 2 in the hilts blade channel.

Anyone know at what chronological point. Gerber started etching "Gerber Paul and Portland Or" on the left side of blade?

That's because you didn't look at only closed auctions.

Looking at used ones sold in 2021, basic ones have sold low-high: $125-$190. $170s seem the average.

Ones sold for higher were mint or came with special scales or scrimshaw.

Yes Sir, I did look at closed auctions as best I could. That's where the one in link I posted came from. Which closed "Dec 15-2020. And it is the closest I found in similarity to mine. With a few differences in markings,
...........condition and color of wood scales is spot on. But marked differently. Mine has no markings on back, or side of blade.

Mine is only marked both sides of blade butt just above frame. Right side (PAUL) over (MODEL 2PW)......Left side (GERBER over PORTLAND OR 37223). And a (2) inside the frame on back spine.

The markings on mine are the same as this one. Except for mine has a "2" inside back spine. https://www.ebay.com/itm/GERBER-PAUL...p2047675.l2557 And it went for $125 on 2-1-21.

I'm not real E-barf savy and have only bought a few items there long ago. Can you please provide a link to help me see the one you mentioned along with others I may be missing?
