In February 2007, the knife community said goodbye to one of the industry's most unique bladesmith, Ron Gaston...a man who took pride in his work and always strived for excellence in every knife he built.
On February 20, 1999, my uncle ordered a custom knife from Ron based on his Model 25 and 29. Uncle Peter ordered the knife with an OAL of 10 1/2" and a blade length of 5 1/2". The blade is double edged and extremely sharp. It's made with ATS 34, RC 58-59 steel and includes a Spanish Notch. The handles were ordered with beautiful, California Buckeye Burl with decorative pins and as a final touch of elegance, a 22ct Gold Eagle on the left side of the bolsters. The knife comes in a beautiful leather sheath made for this knife.
