    Left handed sheath

Does anyone have a recommendation for a leather guy who can make few left-handed sheaths? Among the knives are a Kabar USMC, Kabar Hunter, and Buck 119.

    Thanks!

it'll take me a minute to find the thread but during World War II at least one u.s. made combat knife that came with a left-sided left-handed design was for the Cattaraugus "Quartermaster" knife.

It was never meant just for Quartermasters , which is obvious because so many were produced but because of its extremely heavy duty construction and Hammer like pommel it became a great way to open or close wooden crates if you didn't have a pry bar nearby.

Anyhow, a calguns member found his dad's safe full of rusty ones and he refurbish them which included finding someone, online I think, who makes left hand reproduction just for that knife.

If you like that World War II combat leather look it's the sheath to get for a left-hander.

Okay here's the knife restoration thread that I mentioned above and at the bottom you'll see some photos that include these World War II designed left-handed left-sided knife.

When you think about it even for right-handed people , certain military occupations, who might have had items like a government issue 1911 45 ACP pistol on the right side a nice heavy knife might balance better on the left.

This is the leathersmith that he recommended....

And if that guy is asking for prices that are above what you want to pay at least you now know a knife model and sheath model you can search for on eBay or wherever that will be left handed.

And I can attest to the fact that my Cattaraugus combat /quartermaster knife fits in my buck 119 recently made factory leather holster perfectly so theoretically it should work the other way around as well.

No problem, I'm glad if it helps you.

I feel our whole firearms community always should try to help each other

( whenever we're not debating opinions with each other).

If you want to see what the original Cattaraugus 225 Q combat knife sheath look like here's a link

and I recommend if you own any World War II knives ( original or modern copies ) anyone could use their information regarding pricing and rarity as well as what their particular make and model original sheath might look like.
